Hello from Holland

Fri Jan 09, 2015 7:16 pm

...I can totally say that, since the province I live in now is South-Holland, The Netherlands. :)

Anyway, expanding my horizon a bit because the dutch AX club seems to be dying out.
I owned an AX GT, into which I swapped a GTI Cup engine, then sold it because it ate petrol and I flatout ran out of money.

I basically traded it for a 3dr AX 1.5D, and I'm working on putting a turbo on it, goal is 100-120 HP. Everything else is already upgraded (106 suspension/brakes, GTI interior and exterior trim, 16V clutch, etc..), its just the last bits that need doing, like welding the exhaust bits for the turbo. :)

Just passed 300.000 km (on the original engine at least) today. :)

Can't post pictures right now, as my photo host (with all my AX-related photo's on it) is "down for maintenance" for a week already. *facepalm*

Also, I paid my tenner, and currently waiting for my account to be upgraded to paid status.. :)
(then I noticed that theres almost no activity in the unpaid sections, is there even anyone here, or did I leave one inactive club to join another? :x)

Thanks, I guess we'll see when they get around to that. :)

I've been looking, but its a pretty uncommon project indeed. :) Saw a few youtube video's of someone in France with a turbo-1.5D AX, and theres also a Micra and an 106 (same engine) with a turbo, but haven't found much more.

Something like that, I got the pump off of an 1.9 XUD from a Fiat Scudo minivan. Injectors came of an 106 with the Bosch version of the TUD5. In hindsight, I should have gotten the pump off the 106 too and just bolted the turbo bits to it, would have made life a LOT easier.. :) But hindsight is 20/20.

Current problem is the rev limiter and a rather massive fuel leak from the throttle shaft. While I wait for the reseal-kit to come in the mail, I guess I could make a start at cutting the exhaust flanges from steel plate, and perhaps mocking up and welding some of the exhaust plumbing.

It used to be really busy but other platforms and people selling up have taken a lot of members away

Well, I'm a paid member now, so thats something..

Currently working on translating my build topic, and finding a new picture hosting website, because the one where all my pictures are has been dead for 2 weeks now. :(

Thats true, I hope it'll also lead to a bit of a revival in Holland as well as on this forum. :)

At any rate, I'll be going to the meeting, so I'll be seeing you guys there. :)
