Citroen ax vts conversion

Wed Jan 14, 2015 10:05 pm

Hi I am new to the club but have Owen my ax for about a year and a half and I feel it's time for some more power as mine is only the 1.1 forte I would like to do the vts conversion and I would like any advice

I have recently heard that if you do this conversion you have the seam weld the inner wings to stop the power of the engine ripping the front of the car off now is this true or not thanks in advance :D

LMAO I heard a guy say that when I was talking about my AX he said he knew someone that had one with a VTS conversion but he hadn't strengthened the wings and it split the front apart or something.

I think its bollox to be honest he might of been talking about the old ball jointaroony trick where it pops out and the leg goes up into the wing, it could of happened to me if I hadn't of spotted a bodge on my last one something like a 16mm bolt with 17mm nut holding it on and I went around a few corners at fair speed before I noticed the bodge.

I will always get under my cars and give them a good check now, this ones fine though as my hands only will be touching it, well accept for when she's being mapped. :D

I know of only one AX that's twisted with the extra power but that's running 350+bhp...

Yeah they can take some shit these shells, I will be adding the usual strengthening parts though for added rigidity. xD

It will just spin the tyres before destroying the shell lol

It will be fine.

I ran a vts engine on all my 1.0i running gear for a few years.

Not the brakes though had to change them! So uprated my shocks too.

But my 1.0i engine mounts, fly n clutch, driveshafts, rad, fan, hoses, alt starter etc. (did have a random 5 speed box though )
